Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a math tutoring session cost?
My rate is $80/hour. For a 30-minute lesson: $40; for a 45-minute session: $60; and for a 60-minute lesson: $80. It is the same cost for a virtual lesson or an in-person lesson.
What grades/topics do you teach?
I have taught elementary, middle, and high school math. Most of my career has been at the high school level. My clients range from grade 4 through college. I can teach elementary/middle school math, pre-algebra, algebra I and II, geometry, pre-calculus, and calculus AB. Also, I can help your student prepare for the ACT/SAT math portion. On average I can help your student increase their ACT by 3 points, one student I worked with went from an 18 to a 28, but that is an outlier.
Where do you tutor?
I tutor out of my house in Farmington Hills, MI or virtually.
Do you prefer in-person or virtually?
I do not have a preference, both are effective. Some students drive 45 minutes to meet in person, while others who live 1/2 mile away prefer to meet virtually. If it is not convenient to meet in person, then virtually is fine. I know students are busy.
What is your cancelation policy?
I understand life happens, so you can cancel at any time. In a perfect world, if you cancel earlier than later, that is appreciated. Then another student who needs support may schedule an appointment. You may cancel using the email confirmation or through me.
Are you accepting new students?
At this time I am accepting new students.
Can I book an appointment for the same day?
Yes, you can book an appointment for the same day. My scheduler app goes out for two weeks. If you want a standing appointment, I can schedule that for you.
What form of payment do you accept?
I accept them all, I prefer Zelle (jeffbrasch@gmail.com), but I also take Venmo (jeffrey-brasch), cash app, check, and cash.
